Administrator
I started my healthcare career in 2004 as a receptionist in long-term care, working my way through different positions that inspired me to pursue nursing. In 2009, I earned my nursing degree, which gave me invaluable hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the care we provide.
This background has been essential in my current role as an administrator because it gave me the confidence to lead by example, understand, and address the diverse needs of our residents and staff. Building and guiding a team to deliver the care our residents deserve is a responsibility I take
seriously. I’m passionate about keeping my team motivated and focused on our goals. I frequently communicate with them, ensuring they are the first to know if our vision or strategies need to evolve.
What makes our Avantara team unique is our heart. Many employees have been part of our family for over 20 years, demonstrating their dedication and love for their work. For us, it’s not about the recognition; it’s about coming to work every day with the sole purpose of giving our all to the
residents. That’s what I love most about being here. Our team is driven by compassion and commitment, striving to provide the best care possible.
Director of Nursing
I’ve worked in healthcare since 1991, starting out as a medical assistant and phlebotomist before earning my nursing degree. I originally wanted to be a physician, but as a young mother I knew I didn’t have the time to dedicate to medical school. Nursing became the perfect way to follow my
passion for healthcare while balancing family and work.
I joined Avantara Joliet in 2021 and immediately felt at home in the supportive environment. What I love most about nursing is building relationships—being there not only for our residents, but also for the staff who care for them every day. I believe in leading by example—working
alongside my team, staying calm in difficult situations, and showing them that I’ll always step in when needed. My goal is to create trust, encourage professionalism, and ensure every resident receives excellent care.
